i FoRgoT 2 meNtioN . .

The whole time on the plane ride there peter and I kept saying lines from snakes on a plane. We had Tyrone, or token as we called him for the whole trip, chime in with "I'm sick and tired of these mother f**king snakes on this mother f**king plane. I guess you had to be there, but it was pretty hilarious.

more to come if I remember.

The Concept of being Jennied (as told by Peter Verra)

This joke when on during the whole trip. Whenever this happened someone would say "you get Jennied".

This is a classic example of an inside joke. You see Paris has a badass metro system which comes around every 5 mins. I think all transit line should be like this in my opinion. So in order to ride the line you need to of course buy a ticket. Now you stick these little purple ticket in an automatic ticket sucker and it usually lets you pass. For some reason whenever Jenny tried this it didn’t work. Jenny or Jan as her friends like to call her, was at this for about 10-15 mins and could not get through to the other side. She tried about 4-5 tickets that where brand new and was unable to pass. I and Ty even gave her some of our tickets and those didn’t work either, lol. Jan finally went up to the info desk and got tickets that did work, but then also got stuck going through the doors once the ticket worked. From then in on when someone got stuck we referred to it as getting Jennyied.

Day 7!!!

(Blog recorded 03.13.07 : 6:30pm Paris : 2:30pm US)

What a day, so much was done I don't know where to begin. First off last night was a blast. So much drama was going on and I love drama as long as I'm not involved. I got some good footage which you will see later. Pete also took him upon himself to chase me around bare assed. I'm sitting in the hall and he sees these two girls and says to them "want to see Oscar run like a little b*tch?". So he drops his pants and starts charging at me and I had to make a mad dash for my room, but I couldn't stop laughing. Well I was up at 10 to hit up Saint-Sulpice church @ 11:30. So far so good. Sara, Jenny, Lexi, Lucy, Valentina, Tyrone, Peter, Monique and I went to the church. What a sight, one of the scenes of the Da Vinci Code were filmed there. While walking to get lunch I found what is called "geo-cacheing". To make a long story short, theres an artist who puts little aliens (space invader out of tile) on buildings as his mark. . A lot of people don't know why or where they are, but I found one. I'm sooo cool LOL. Check out this site to see what I mean, www.space-invaders.com/1paris.html . The rest of the group wanted lunch so Lucy, Peter, Valentina and I went shopping. I'm spending money like it's my job. Hey Mike Razz if you read this before I'm home I got you a baret. So after about an hour of shopping we met up w/ the rest of out group. Its more like a click lol. We headed to "LE CIMETIERE DU PERE LACHAISE". Easily said a cemetery and I know what your thinking. YES!!!! The cemetery w/ Jim Morrison's grave. I bought a map and we were on our way. The place is huge we must have walked at least a mile, but we found it. Words cannot explain how I felt. It was unreal. Jim was and still is such an icon. Normally graves are removed every 100 years or so, but Jim's and a few others such as Oscar Wilde, Frederic Chopin, the designer of the Louvre, Sarah Bernhardt still remain. We met up w/ John there to explore. We found a Morrison enthusiast named Raphael who told us he was a guide and brought us to the popular graves while telling us great stories of Jim. It was like he knew him or something. You can see everywhere we went after I finish my iStory movie. After the mini tour of the cemetery we journeyed back to the hotel. We finally got the hang of the metro system, but our French is still rusty. I grabbed a bite to eat and now I'm back in the room. We have a late dinner tonight at 8 to thank our guide Natalie. She was really great. After that I gotta pack up and maybe I'll grab a drink or two or three. I don't think the trip went fast at all because we got so much accomplished, but I don't want to leave. I will be coming back though, eventually. I dunno what time our flight is, but I'm sure I'll find out.

This will probably be the last blog I do on the trip, unless I do a follow up when I get home. I'm going to miss it so much, but all good things must come to an end. The end of one chapter is the beginning of another. This trip has made me think a lot about things going on at home. I'm coming home to problems, but thats life. Ups and downs. Take em or leave em. I feel I gained so much, mentally, with going on this trip. Its going to be nice to get home and see everyone.

PaRis UpDaTe. Day 1-6

-Day 1 and 2
(Blog recorded.Friday 3/09 /07. 12:04am)

Bus ride to JFK was a blast. I didn’t get much sleep last night, but I’m ready to go for this trip. EFFIN’ PARIS Both plane rides were an experience since I haven’t been on a plane in like 10 years. I wound up having to check my toiletry bag which I thought I was going to lose, but didn’t and I had to go through a thorough search at customs. Just my luck. I didn’t get to sit next to any of my friends on the plane, but I had the honor of sitting next to some middle-aged guy who smelt like God knows what. 8 Hours. I kept myself busy w/ my iPod. I didn’t get any sleep and the food was pretty bad. We had a transfer in Germany so we chilled in the terminal for an hour. In the terminal they had escalators, but they didn't go up they just went along the ground. Pete and I named them lift-o-lators. The flight to Paris was 45 minutes. When we got off I got all my luggage, thank God, and we met our guide Natalie. She was very informative on the bus ride to the hotel. We arrived there on Friday, because of the time change at 11:45am Paris time, mind you I’ve been awake for over 24hrs. The hotel was another story. The rooms looked nothing like they did on the webpage, who knew. The beds are mad small and only one pillow, WTF. At 12:15pm the power goes out, I expected that to happen. The weather was slightly rainy and we had to meet for lunch @ 1:00. For lunch Peter, Jenny, Sara, John, Tyrone and I went to “Le Frog”. Pete and I split a frog burger which tasted different than burgers back home. I think it was the frog. We then as a class went to Chatulete. It reminded me of the city w/ stores all over the place, not to mention tattoo parlors and you know me and tattoos. HAHA! We went to some pizza place w/ bootleg a$$ pizza called “Flam”. Got back to the room around 12ish and passed out watching south park. Didn’t get much sleep though because Peter snores like a fcukin bear. Bus tour tomorrow to the Eiffel Tower, Place of Versailles and Notre Dame. It feels like I’m in a whole other world. Until tomorrow, goodnight.

-Day 3
(Blog recorded Saturday.9:50pm Paris : 3:50 US)

Got little sleep due to Pete snoring, but was wide awake all day. Bus tour was awesome. I really feel like I’m in Paris now, even though I’m still jet lagged. The Eiffel Tower, the Palace of Versailles, and Notre Dame were amazing. The tower is beautiful Everyone was asking me to take pictures of them to make it look like they were leaning on it. I did a damn good job! I’ll post a picture later so you can see what I mean. The Palace of Versai (where King Louis XIV in 1682 officially installed the court and government of the kingdom, he also lived there, was also beautiful. So many rooms. Unbelievable. The sculptors, busts and paintings, especially the ones on the ceiling were such works of art. So many vendors outside trying to sell you everything from tower key chains to light up tower lighters. Some how I wound up w/ 15 Eiffel Tower key chains. I’m sure my friends will like them. In front of the Notre Dame cathedral there was a stone compass engraved in the ground and it was the geological center of France. Everyone was standing on it, supposedly its good luck so I did so. After walking through the cathedral, which had statues and stain glass windows that were astounding, I couldn't find my group. Now I’m thinking I’m screwed. No idea where to go, what train to take, or where the hotel is. After looking for 10 minutes I found Ray (iPod as we’ve been calling him). Got back w/ my group and Natalie led us to the Latino Court or Latin Quarters, something like that. Crazy restaurants and souvenir shops. Dr. Mchugh, Sara, Lucy, Valentina, John, Lexi and myself ate at “Le Harpe”. I had escargot for an appetizer. Snails as we American call it. Main course was steak w/ some blue cheese sauce on it, scalloped potatoes, and cream puffs for dessert. Afterwards Lucy, Valentina and myself went in and out of gift shops. Of course we lose the rest of the group, but luckily we found our way back. Everyone is going over to the bar across the street called Peanuts. Looking forward to throwing a few back. Tomorrow is a day off. A few off us are planning to go to the Louvre. I can’t wait. Until tomorrow, Or-ev-wa (say it like it’s spelt, I’m not good at spelling French LOL).

-Day 4
(Blog recorded Sunday. 3/11/07. 2:15pm Paris : 8:20am US)

So drunk last night it’s not even funny. I don’t think any night of drunkness will top this. Everyone was a disaster. What a blast!!! Breakfast wasn’t the best, but I gotta eat something. I was up at 7 to hit up Louvre at 9:30. All went according to plan. The glass pyramid was incredible, so was the Mona Lisa, Venus de Milo and the Winged Victory. A few of us went back to the room after to work off our hangovers. John and I are switching rooms because he snores as well. Tyrone, Valentina, Lucy, Jenny, Rodney, Maritiza, and myself are going to the flea market and not drinking tonight, lol. I’m getting a lot of footage for my iStory so it should be interesting when I edit it all together. I just noticed what today’s date is and I’m turning 23 in 11 days. Dizam!!!

(Sunday. 3/12/07. 12:48am Paris)

Flea market was worth the trip, but tiring. If I had 1000 euro, I still wouldn’t be able to buy everything I wanted. Starting to get the hang of Metro. While we were waiting for the train this French guy was cursing us off like crazy. It was funny as hell, but he was all up in Dr. McHugh's face so at the same time a little scary. Went to the Latin Quarters again for dinner. Maritzia, Lucy, Valentina, Anoup and I split 3 types of cheese fondue. The cheeses tasted great, but we should have gotten more food to dip. Going to try and get to bed early tonight. Going to try and make it to Jim Morrison’s grave tomorrow, but as a class we’re going to Montre Mount and seeing Moulin Rouge.

-Day 5
(Blog recorded Monday 11:56pm Paris : 6:56pm US)

Didn’t make it to Jim’s grave, instead I went shopping w/ Monique, Peter, Sara, Jenny, Lexi, Tyrone, and Rodney at Chatulet. The class got to Moulin Rouge around 4ish. That was worth the 20 stops on metro. We walked up mad steep hills and went to another cathedral. After that we were free to wander and I bought so much stuff. Everyone is going to love what I got them, I hope. I tried a creepe (crep, not creep) w/ nutella in it and I inhaled it. Its good, its goooooooooood! Around 7ish we took a boat ride around the river. We passed the tower (which has twinkle lights that go off every hour at night and it looks astounding), Notre Dame and the Louvre. Everything looks so nice lit up. Everything is up in the air tomorrow except for lunch on the “2nd floor” of the Eiffel Tower maybe I’ll get to Jim’s grave the catacombs. Tomorrow night getting plastered, no questions asked!!! I keep thinking about home every now and again. I have no worries here and it sucks that when I get home all my problems are going to be waiting for me. Well I’m not letting that stop me. This vacation is just what I needed. I really don’t want to leave although I miss home. The question of the hour is “would you live here. I said yes, if I was offered a job here. So B-E-A-utiful!!!!!
Goodnight…..

-Day 6
(Blog recorded Tuesday 6:15pm Paris : 1:15pm US)

Slept late, but not long because I went to bed late. Tyrone, Lucy and I were up talking till 3 or so. A group of us had lunch at the Eiffel Tower. Not the best meal I’ve gotten for 23 euros, but it filled me. I had oysters for an app, which I found out I don’t like and pot roast as the main course. I also bought a bottle of wine, didn’t taste good at all, but I drank it anyway. The view from the “second floor” was beautiful. After lunch the group split up. Myself, Dr. Londino, Dr. Mirrer, Prof. Tung, Sara and Lexi decided to go shopping and see the opera house. The opera house was gorgeous. It was the opera house that the phantom supposedly haunts, no joke! After the opera house, the ladies went one way and Prof Tung and myself checked out some stores. Prices were ridiculous. I’m so achy and tired, but that’s not stopping me. This trip is the highlight of my year. Nothing will beat this. I bought a magazine like AP back home. It’s all in French, but it has the Blood Brothers, Killswitch Engage some French bands in it. I’m really curious about french hardcore music, is it the same? I’m going to relax for now and watch some Family Guy on my iPizzle. Heavy drinking tonight!!!! I’m looking forward to it. Tomorrow is the last day, I have to make it to Jim Morrison’s grave!!!!!

-Day 7
(Blog recorded Wednesday. 1:36am Paris : 8:36pm US)

Just got in from the bar didn’t really feel like doing too much drinking. Nothing is going to hold up to the first night we drank. I’m so worn out, but I’m not letting that stop me. We’re having a PJ party in the hall so random, lol. I’m heading out, I hear laughing in the hall.

Damn time really flies. 6 days until we leave for Paris and I not ready at all. This trip is going to be insane and with my sidekick Peter we're going to be getting into all types of trouble.

iStory.
